The Vercors

The Vercors is a mountain range making the link between Isère and Drôme, it also represents a Regional Natural Park in which our campsite is located. In the Vercors, you will have many hiking or walking trails that will take you through exceptional viewpoints, majestic passes, fabulous roads, villages steeped in history and unusual places. During your expeditions, you may have the chance to pass by the Chapel of the Carpathians, the Resistance Museum, the Court of the Shooted, the Water Museum, the Vercors Distillery, Le Petit Monde des Santons de Provence, the Jardin des Fontaines Pétrifiantes and the Wheeled Boat.

The Caves of Thaïs and Choranche

The Vercors is known for being home to a large number of exceptional caves. We advise you to go through the Grotte de Thaïs. During a one-hour visit, a guide will tell you about the history of the formation of this cave, its occupation and the recent speleological research that has been carried out. We will also meet you in the Grotte de Choranche. Follow the guide and attend a show that will delight young and old. You will follow the two underground rivers and discover stalactites, proteas and the fabulous Hall of the Cathedral.

Activities in nature

The Vercors has no shortage of activities. We particularly recommend that you take a hike. Five hikes start at the campsite. The difficulties of the hikes are variable. The hikes will take you to a climbing wall or a magnificent waterfall. At the foot of our campsite, you will also find a goat farm to leave with goat cheese. Nearby, you will also have a tree climbing for the whole family.

Romans-sur-Isere

Romans-sur-Isère is less than 15 kilometers from our campsite. In this charming village, in the heart of the Drôme and at the foot of the Vercors, you will enjoy discovering its heritage and its rich history. Discover the most remarkable monuments and places of Romans-sur-Isère: the banks of the Martinette, the Saint-Barnard collegiate church, the Jacquemart Tower and the International Shoe Museum.

Valence

Located 25 kilometers from our 3-star campsite in the Vercors, visit the city of Valence. Also called “the gateway to the South of France”, Valence is full of monuments and activities for the whole family. We advise you to take a stroll along the canals, to visit the Saint-Apollinaire Cathedral, to walk in the Jouvet park and to discover the Epervière park.

Grenoble

In less than an hour's drive, you will be in downtown Grenoble. Take a walk in this charming town and discover all the beauties of Grenoble. We meet you at the Bastille, the old military fort, on the Place Grenette to sit in a café and shop or take the famous Grenoble cable car.

The Ideal Palace of Postman Cheval

Forty-five minutes by road will be enough to reach the Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval from our campsite. It took 10,000 days, 93,000 hours, 33 years of work and one man to build this Palace.
